Vandaag is het hier groot feest van "Sint Davids day". Alle kinderen mochten in klederdracht naar school komen ipv in uniform. De hele voormiddag kregen we optredens te zien, net ons schoolfeest!
De kleuren van Wales zijn hoofdzakelijk rood en wit en soms ook groen erbij. Ik kreeg ook een "leek", een groen en wit speldje als teken van Wales opgespeld.
Ze zijn hier enorm patriotisch ingesteld en nog fier op hun landstreek Wales. We werden hartelijk ontvangen door de directie van de school en de burgemeester. Het comenius project is hier overal of toch in heel veel klassen te bewonderen. De kinderen zongen liedjes over Europa, speelden toneel en muziek. Tijdens de middag heb ik gesmuld van lokale hapjes, lekker! Daarna moest ik erg stil zijn want het was vergadering. Gelukkig mochten we nog gaan wandelen in het uitzonderlijke zonnetje. Hier staan zelfs kastelen met palmbomen bij! Morgen bezoeken we de klassen.

second day
Today, it's a holiday called "Saint Davids day". All of the kids were allowed to wear their own favorite clothes to school instead of their usual uniform. Throughout the morning there were preformances, just like our school festival! Wales' traditional colors are red white and sometimes green. They gave me what's called a leek, a green an white trinket representing wales. Around here they're really patriottic and real proud of wales. We were cordially greeted by the principal of the school and the mayor the "comenius" project is something to marvel at in most schools here. The kids sang songs about Europe rehearsed plays and played music. During lunch time I got to munch on some delicious local snacks. Delicious. After that there was a board meeting so i had to be very, very quiet. Lucky it was one of those rare sunny days so we got to go out for a week. There are even castles here with palm trees next to them tomorrow where visiting the classrooms, see you
